Kristen Everett
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer, The Brave Little Bears Foundation
Kristen is the proud mom of Cam and Jay — the original two “brave little bears” who inspired the foundation — and Quinn, their energetic little sister. She and her husband and co-founder, Kyle, built their family and this foundation side by side.
Kristen works full-time in professional development at Ballard Spahr, where she has spent more than ten years supporting lawyers in their continued growth and professional success. She is deeply grateful for the firm’s support in taking on The Brave Little Bears Foundation as a pro bono client and helping guide the organization through the process of obtaining its 501(c)(3) status.
Since Cam and Jay began their journeys with developmental disabilities, Kristen has felt an overwhelming sense of gratitude for access to the therapies and activities that have helped them thrive — while also recognizing that many families do not have the same opportunities. She understands firsthand how complex systems, confusing information, financial strain, and emotional exhaustion can quickly become overwhelming.
What keeps Kristen moving forward is the community of parents and families walking similar paths, whose encouragement and shared wisdom have carried her family through their hardest days. Her hope for The Brave Little Bears Foundation is simple: to give back even a fraction of that love and support by helping families overcome financial barriers to accessing the therapies, tools, and experiences their children deserve.
Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, catching up with friends, and squeezing in a round of golf during the warmer months.
This foundation was born from her family’s journey, but it belongs to every family who has had to fight a little harder for their child — and to every brave little bear out there.
