Meet Jay
One of the original "Brave Little Bears"
At 18 months old, Jay was diagnosed with GRIN2B-Related Neurodevelopmental Disorder, an ultra-rare developmental disability affecting fewer than 750 known individuals worldwide. This video shows the impact of a specialized private therapy called Cuevas Medek Exercises (CME). Jay participated in CME twice a week for more than a year with a certified practitioner in his home before taking his first independent steps at 3½ years old.
CME is not covered by insurance, and Jay’s family estimates they spent more than $10,000 on this therapy alone. For families raising children with developmental disabilities, therapies and opportunities that can make a meaningful difference are often financially out of reach—which is exactly why The Brave Little Bears Foundation exists.
